About Trolls, Trolldom and the Troll Philosophy
Life in Trolldom is fun, full of excitement, adventure, laughter, friendship and love. The Trolls enjoy a harmonious lifestyle and their attitudes are positive. They look for creative ways to deal with life's situations, and of course sometimes they are faced with Very Difficult Problems (VDPs). That is when they head for the "Table of the Important Decisions", where even the most stubborn VDPs, disputes and dilemmas can be solved in a civilized way. Trolls are responsible individuals who maintain high moral and ethical standards. They have a healthy sense of their own worth and ability. Trolls love adventures, but they must be careful, because their nasty neighbors, Mudhats, may lurk anywhere. Mudhats live in the disgusting Mudswamp, just outside of Trolldom. They also hang out in the terrifying Mad Mountains. Mudhats are the ultimate troublemakers, always looking for a chance to pick a fight or break stuff. They are constantly plotting to invade Trolldom or kidnap Trolls, whom they like to call "fuzzballs" or "fur brains". Trolls do their best to avoid Mudhats and stay away from the Mudswamp and the Mad Mountains. Mudhats, on the other hand, are determined to give Trolls as much grief as possible.
Trolls like people. They like to make us laugh, and take us along on their hair-raisingly dangerous adventures. They also want to share their joy and friendship with us. When Trolls get into some silly trouble or make fools of themselves in an embarrassing situation, well - then they realize it is okay not to be perfect. Trolls want to keep in mind that even if it rains today, the sunshine is only a smile away. Often they show up on a gloomy day to reassure us that tomorrow the sun will shine again! All we need to do is to keep our fairytale eyes and ears open. |
